But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking." - Mitch Albom

Fragrant Harbour

The plane touched down at the Hong Kong International Airport at 10:05 in the morning. A light mist welcomed us but didn't stay long for it might have understood our excitement for visiting Hong Kong the first time.

After checking in, we went to the Ocean Park.

The Ocean Park is vast.  From the Waterfront you have to ride either  the cable car or Ocean Express to go to the Summit. A day is not enough to be able to tour the whole place.  We went there around 2:00 in the afternoon and stayed until closing time which is 8:30 P.M. and there are still a lot of attractions and shows we missed.

The Summit Cable Car.

Bursts of color everywhere

On the second day we went on a city tour.We visited the Avenue of Stars, Aberdeen Fishing Village, Victoria's Peak, Jewelry Factory and Factory Outlet.

The sky is the limit.

Walking in style.

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.

In the afternoon, it was off to the happiest place in the world. It was a treat for both the kids and kids at heart.

Disneyland Souvenir Shops

Dumbo in the Flights of Fantasy parade.

And they lived happily ever after.

It was great playing tourist for awhile. We learned to ride the MTR during our short stay, haggle at the night market and scour for great finds at Nathan Road. Travelling is a good experience but then, I still have to tour my own country. The Philippines is an archipelago of 7,107 islands and I had only been to three major islands.

To the Waves

I love the rain. With the fine mist like a curtain of jewels, the night sky glittered. I could sleep all day long when the storm clouds hide the sun.

In the cold, I become lethargic, stoic almost, as I lay in supine covered with a thick blanket.

However, my dream disagrees with me today.

I find myself inside an old cottage with a shabbiness that is comforting. The scent and feel is like being enveloped in a mother’s bosom swelling with love.

Looking out the window, the sea is beckoning me. Enthralled at its aquamarine hue, I went out the door and ran barefoot towards the shore.

I let the warm and silken water romance me until the heat of the sun is no longer friendly on my skin.

Back at the cottage, I had a quick shower, excited at the thought of going to the marina for some seafood.

I sat by the window and let the wind blow dry my hair as I am indulging in a breakfast of brewed coffee and wheat toast smothered with orange marmalade and cream cheese spread.

But the sky turned gray and the cold breeze carried me out of the cottage to be swallowed by the thick fog.

Waking up dazed; my arms are still flailing trying to get out of the dark abyss.

I got up slowly and opened the fridge. Had nothing but cold milk to calm my rumbling stomach.

Sighing,I sat by the kitchen table and boot up my notebook to search for beach destinations.
