But there’s a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking." - Mitch Albom

Forgotten Summer

Cleaning my desk today and lo, what did I found, 2009 vacation pictures at Boracay Island. It was my first and only time to go there considering that it is only at the northwestern tip of Panay Island, part of Western Visayas, the region where I lived and spent most of my youth.

Forty-five minutes plane ride (Manila to Roxas) + an hour and a half bus ride (Roxas to Caticlan Jetty port) + Ferry Ride = Boracay Island.

 A variation of halo-halo, a local dessert.

Ditching my flip-flops to feel the sand under my feet.

 Gray skies but calm sea.

Lunch.

View from our table.

 Feasting on Grilled Blue Marlin.

White sand.

At Tawhay Resort, where we stayed for three days and two nights.

I am glad to have found the pictures. It was a summer worth remembering.

Goodbye

What good is there in a goodbye?
What beauty is there in seeing you cry?

Two hundred eighty, probably not,
  Only  two hundred fifty, perhaps,
Hoping that it won't be,
Three hundred sixty five days
of waiting.
But then,
I will be waiting, love.
